About Kerala Museum
The Kerala Museum at Pathadipalam is run by the Madhavan Nayar Foundation, set up by industrialist R. Madhavan Nayar, who saw the need for a cultural institution in Kochi in 1987. The campus has four parts: the Museum of Kerala History, where a light and sound show walks visitors through the region's past with sculpted figures; the Gallery of Contemporary Indian Art; a Dolls Museum; and a Centre for Visual Art. It is also an active programme space. The Kerala Museum Centre for Creativity runs art and craft workshops for children and adults, and the Janal series brings talks, film screenings and panel discussions. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm, and closed on Mondays.
