Food Festivals & Food Events in Kochi

Nothing is listed for coming up yet โ€” new events are added every morning, so check back soon.

Kochi eats by the season. Onam, in August or September, brings the sadya, a banana-leaf feast of two dozen or more vegetarian dishes sold by advance booking at restaurants and hotels. December is plum-cake season, with cake-mixing events and Christmas brunches, and Ramzan fills the snack stalls and biryani houses of Mattancherry after sunset. Through the year, the five-star hotels, including the Kochi Marriott at Edappally, Crowne Plaza and Le Mรฉridien at Maradu and the Grand Hyatt at Bolgatty, run regional and international food promotions. For something informal, buy the day's catch from the stalls beside the Chinese fishing nets at Fort Kochi and have it cooked nearby, or follow a food walk through Mattancherry's Gujarati sweet shops and spice lanes. Panampilly Nagar is the cafรฉ district.
