Things to do in Kakkanad

Kakkanad, about 10 km east of the city centre, is the administrative headquarters of Ernakulam district and the heart of Kochi's IT belt. The Civil Station houses the Collectorate, and Infopark, SmartCity and the Cochin Special Economic Zone lie along the Seaport-Airport Road. Events follow the workforce: tech meetups, hackathons, college fests, comedy tours and fitness runs. The auditorium at Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology takes touring shows, with Vir Das listed for 5 December 2026. Wonderla, the amusement park at Pallikkara, is a short drive further east. Water Metro boats link Vyttila and Kakkanad; the metro's Pink Line is still being built.
