About Ernakulam Town Hall
Ernakulam Town Hall is the civic hall on Banerji Road in Ernakulam North, owned by the Kochi Municipal Corporation. It is the city's default room for public life: cultural programmes, book releases, memorial meetings, award functions, political and trade-union conventions and exhibitions are all held here, and the hall is where the city gathers to pay respects to public figures. Most programmes are free and open to the public, with seating on a first-come basis. Its place on the metro line, close to Ernakulam Town railway station, makes it one of the easiest venues in Kochi to reach, and the station nearest to it now carries the hall's name.
