Heritage Walks & History Events in Kochi
Nothing is listed for coming up yet โ new events are added every morning, so check back soon.
Few Indian cities pack as much history into walking distance as Kochi. In Fort Kochi, St Francis Church stands where the Portuguese built in 1503, the Santa Cruz Cathedral Basilica dates from 1905, and Chinese fishing nets line the harbour mouth. Mattancherry adds the Dutch Palace and its murals, the Paradesi Synagogue of 1568 and the spice warehouses of Bazaar Road. Across the water, Hill Palace in Tripunithura, built in 1865, is Kerala's largest archaeological museum, and the Kerala Museum at Pathadipalam tells the state's story in a light and sound show. Guided walks run mostly from November to February, early or late in the day. Mind the closed days: the Dutch Palace on Fridays, the synagogue on Fridays and Saturdays, and Hill Palace and the Kerala Museum on Mondays.
