Nothing is listed for in mattancherry yet โ new events are added every morning, so check back soon.
Mattancherry sits just south-east of Fort Kochi and is the old trading town of spice warehouses and community quarters. Mattancherry Palace, built by the Portuguese in the mid-16th century and renovated by the Dutch in 1663, is known for its temple-style murals. The Paradesi Synagogue of 1568 stands at the end of Jew Town, a lane of antique and spice shops. Gujarati Street, the Jain temple and the copper-roofed Chempittapally mosque reflect the communities that settled here. Heritage walks, Biennale collateral shows and Holi and Diwali celebrations of the Gujarati and Konkani communities take place in these lanes. The Mattancherry Water Metro terminal opened in October 2025.
